Worked directly under the COO and with the UHC executive team to create the new Commissions Engine (CE) allowing UHC to pay both agencies and agents directly. This new system is part of the core initiative to increase revenues, margins and ultimately facilitate a successful IPO in 2010.
Redesigned core storage systems to support the CE initiative. Existing systems consisted of non-normalized SQL databases consisting of 3,000+ one dimensional tables all managed by numerous offshore outsourced support teams. Normalized core systems, forced unique keys, coordinated outsourced teams and oversaw data cleanup.
Constructed completely automated SSIS engine running in excess of 50 tasks all in true SOA modular architecture.
Created C# secure portal to allow direct real-time management of data previously done by spreadsheets and ETL loads.

Analyzed and remodeled business processes, modeled data-flow, architected and implemented database and system solutions for nation-wide work order management system.

Spearheaded Boeing/SSG-wide SharePoint web portal for comprehensive content management and information collaboration.
Created the new EDPW interface. System offers 24 hour uptime, real time data updates and scalability not provided by the main Teradata EDPW storage databases. Involves transitioning over 30 million records a day encompassing all training and personnel records for all Boeing employees since the 1950's. System runs automatically, tracks any errors and alerts stakeholders and automatically handles all maintenance.
Created the Boeing enterprise wide Violator System. This is a 50+ step SQL DTS application that gently reminds employees when they don't sign off their time for the day/week. Accessing Oracle systems, SQL systems, HR flat files, XML files etc. Transforms over 16 million records from various sources to derive the daily list. Emails are then sent out to the appropriate areas.
Created the ETS XML system. This is a Boeing wide application which provides help screens to all of the employee time systems. All client code is rendered via XML using XSL transformations and 3 tiered SQL stored procedures. Application includes an MSHTML editor where those who have rights can edit the page live in the browser. These changes are then sent back to the SQL database.
Created dynamic web chat application for Phil Condit (Boeing Chairman & CEO) VB middle tier streams content to web site which then refreshes on a 5 second interval. Chat app made available to all 200,000 Boeing employees. Estimates were for 20,000 possible concurrent users (10%). Using Radview WebLoad we were able to ramp up to 22,000 concurrent users with 3 4-Way Compaq Servers clustered. System pushed over 4 Terabytes of data every 15 minutes. Used gigabit switch & 2 Cisco Local Directors to support bandwidth.
Created Resource Info DB system which uses WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation) to monitor server resources Boeing wide. All dependencies are monitored & any upgrades to servers or degradation in service are automatically reported to admins & devs who are affected.
Created dynamic web reports for 1 million row, 200 table SQL database. Deriving reports required a thorough understanding of the data-including merging legacy information with the new architecture to derive meaningful info. 260 stored procedures were required as well as additional indexes added to speed up results.
Handled as many as 15 different customers at any given time. Over 25 large projects completed to date. Too many small projects to list.

Under the direction of IIT management, responsible for all aspects of the IIT Web sites-both internal & external. Rebuilt internal site from the ground up including all specs, hardware, software, coding, administration etc.
Coordinated with the Speech, Handwriting, Natural Language, Adaptive User Interface & Intelligent Search groups. Combined all 5 groups into a single internal portal site with common look & feel. All group sites can be entered through portal or directly to Vroot. Site comprised of many different technologies including XML, XSL & ASP+.
Set up custom security driven by ADSI/LDAP. Daily queries run from internal SQL system out to Microsoft active directory & automatically update internal databases & NTFS security. This system also runs dynamic org charts, building locators & contact lists. The internal site actually consists of 3 separate sites-private, client & general. Users enter the site & then are redirected to the appropriate site based on their level of security as determined by the ADSI driven NTFS security settings. Security is guaranteed by session states & the global asa file.
Created custom database driven ASP side nav bar using JavaScript & VBScript which checks for state & passes the primary key of the parent & any children to the URL in a query string to allow for bookmarking & emailing of links/pages within the frameset. Site also uses COM objects to verify ACL rights via NT Security Descriptor & then changes colors of folders in nav tree to coincide with the specific rights of that user.
Created & maintained search catalogs using Site Server.
Created & maintained a VSS database for those files that required "roll back" capabilities. Dynamic File System object navigation created that will automatically pick up up VSS shadowed files & folders & pass path & file name to URL.

Responsible for the administration of 12 servers & multiple internal web sites including the MSN Internal Website, Web Essentials & CCG Internal Sites.
Position required the transfer of all data from multiple locations of Web Essentials group into one central warehouse. Specific duties included specs & acquisition of new systems, setup of new systems, transfer of all data & support for the individual groups. Responsible for all aspects of this site as well as ongoing maintenance of MSN internal site & administration of Visual Source Safe database with over 1,000 users.
After reorganization of MSN group, position required merging of newly created Web Essentials site with MSN sites & transfer of some groups to CCG site. Duties included changing DNS table, all security settings, addition of new members, creation/transfer & administration of VSS database etc.
Created tools to enable tracking of URL submission to various Search Engines including SubmitIT, LookSmart, Alta Vista, Lycos & others. Tools required ASP & JavaScript with recursive functionality.
